Spoons
What You Will Need:
Atleast four people
Cards
A table
Metal Spoons
Beer
How to Play:
Everyone gets a beer. Place some spoons equal to the number
of players minus one in a pile over each other in the middle
of the table in a 'flower-like' shape.
Deal out 5-7 cards, depending on the number of players.
The dealer begins by drawing a card from the deck and either
keeping it and discarding one from his hand or passing it on
to the player at his right. The next player in line then
looks at the card and does the same. Cards are passed
completely around the table as many times as it takes.
The object of the game is to be the first one player to
obtain four-of-a-kind. Once someone has it he draws one
spoon from the pile. As soon as one person draws a spoon
everyone else must draw a spoon immediately, despite their
hand. Naturally since there is one less spoon than there
are players, someone will not get a spoon and they must
drink whatever the designated quantity is. The deal is
then passed to the "loser."
Penalty drinks are levied against anyone who is caught
with more than the original number of cards in their hand
at any time during the game, or if someone is obviously
ignoring the cards and watching the spoons.
This game is best when played very fast, especially after
the players have had a few beers already. If cards begin
to pile up in front of a player it is perfectly legal to
steal them from him. This encourages players to think fast.
A couple other things make this game even more fun:
If you get the four-of-a-kind, be sneaky when taking the
spoon. Most of the time the other players won't be paying
attention.
