Definition of Terms- F

 

Falerno- a type of wine adapted from Ancient Rome and made in Italy
Falernum- a fruity sweetener with a spicy taste and a hint of lime
Fix- a sour drink, usually made with pineapple syrup and crushed ice
Fizz- made with sour mix, sugar and club soda
Forbidden Fruit Liqueur- a liqueur made from a particular type of grapefruit (shaddock) as well as honey and brandy
Fortified Wine- a wine, such as as port or sherry, with extra alcohol added to it
Fraises- a strawberry liqueur with a high sugar content
Framboise- French name for raspberry, often used to refer to raspberry schnapps
Frangelico- a liqueur with the flavor of hazelnuts 
Frappe- a drink made by packing a glass with crushed ice and pouring the liqueur over it
